Get Out of a Motivation Rut
I am trying to change my outlook and to do that I am going to try some techniques. I have outlined them below, let me know if you have any success or you own ways of tackling the world!
1) Ask for feedback. This can apply to work and personal relationships. If you are trying to get moving at work, being able to setup a time and walk over a small psychological hurdle with your boss is not a sign of weakness. If your boss is not able to hold your hand and help you; mostly likely you will be able to analysis what he or she has to say about your situation. Allow yourself to be open to a different way of looking/approaching something.
2) Do you have support? Since you have found your way to an internet marketing blog you are probably a hard working entrepreneur. We have smaller opportunities for mentors than people in conservative lines of work. Even though we all need mentors, it can be difficult at times to find someone to get guidance from. My thoughts: A professionals group can be a wonderful place to network and find mentors. Also, forums and online groups can be a way to stay comfortable and meet new people with interesting ideas.
3) Finish mundane task. Finish annoying little tasks with extreme energy and knowledge that they are simple and quick to accomplish. There was a certain task that I had put off for 2 months. 2 months and I just couldn’t bring myself to do it! Long story short; it was really easy and I wasted 3x more time putting guilt on myself then it would have taken to just do the task. Just do it, you will feel much better!
If you allow yourself to look at challenges differently and force your body into action you can walk around the boulder of no motivation instead of wasting all of your energy trying to climb up and over it.
